preENTER is an interactive performance and exhibition project based on the input of the visitors. It was launched in 2006 and has been continuously developed ever since. The concept creates a portrait of society through collective authorship, in which many sources create a large common image - a snapshot of collectively lived reality.
The main part consists of six vertically suspended flatbed scanners, a video server and several projections or displays. Visitors are invited to scan whatever they want - their image appears immediately and uncensored in the projection and becomes part of the constantly growing preEnter archive. The second step is the further processing of the images into an audiovisual live performance to the music of various bands or DJs.
